A More Inclusive Approach to WTF

Anxiety, Depression, and WTF — have you noticed a general and dramatic increase in these types of conditions?  Well, I have. At least there is a noticeable uptick in the number of people that reach out asking for help.

I am not a therapist, life coach, pill pusher, nor a medical practitioner of any sort. I have spent 70+ years walking about on planet  Urth in a monkey suit — and I am somewhat familiar with each of the alluded to conditions.

I truly wish you well and good speed in finding help. However, this blog is not designed to point you toward that help.

Rather, this blog’s sole purpose is to introduce the notion that there are many places that deserve investigation as a part of your overall process. Continue reading

Recipe For A Work Group

A group interconnected, cooperative, and functional.

That’s it. Well, accept for one small added ingredient: a love of the Work.

There may or may not be recipes for cooking up a Work machine from a solo individual. I can’t say whether it is possible or not.  I have my suspicions. But that’s not the kind of thing I’m involved in. So for that info you’ll need to look elsewhere.

That leaves us with Group.

If there is no interconnection then we are back to a bunch of individuals — and, that won’t work for this recipe.

Generally speaking a group dynamic  is either cooperative, competitive, or a mixture of the two. In the case of this recipe it needs to be cooperative all the way.

That leaves us with the final ingredient. The group can either be functional or dysfunctional. For the recipe to be complete (and the group bake, rise, or gel) the group needs to be functional. This does not mean the group needs to be functional at money making. The measure of functional is dependent on the specifics of the group.

Can you create a button that someone would push?

This is a test post to explore options for setting the Facebook Open Graphic.

Here’s hoping for the best.

At the moment I am using Yoast SEO plugin to assign the graphic for this post. (Using the free edition. I’m not active enough to justify the premium.)

The reason for that is that I don’t care for how the “Featured Image” is displayed in my theme.

Ask me for details if you want to do something similar.

By the way, the background image in the graphic was created by using “can you create a button that someone would push” as the prompt in Craiyon.com (formally known as Dall-E lite).

About that mantra I gave you

It is not possible to be given the 100% true pronunciation of any mantra. Not anyone can do this for you. WHY? Because of how the ears work. We do not hear what is really said to us. Technically, the vibrations that come into your ear are subjected to post-processing by your brain. This post-processing is a by-product of how your ear/brain was trained to decipher sounds as a child.

Escape to the Present

Consider a time line.

This time line is fundamentally a mathematical construct. We  contrive a three arbitrary points — a point in the past, a point for the present, and a point in the future.

It is not unusual for people to have the experience of time flowing from the past to the future. Continue reading

Do we see reality as it is?

We do not, nor can we, see the real world — not as we are. Humans evolved to not see the real world. Because seeing the real world does not help us survive.
Instead we see an augmented reality.

When a bear wanders into our vicinity, we do not see the bear. We see an icon that represents the bear.

Why? Because the icon can be fashioned to help us act in a manner that will improve our chances of survival. Seeing the real bear apparently does not do as well.

We are programmed by our DNA, and trained by our experience to see icons rather than reality. Continue reading

Blender as a Work Opportunity

One of the reasons that I elected to mentor these Blender classes was because I felt it was good. for personal transformation. That’s one reason. Everyone can benefit from that. By the way, here’s a bit of good news. Even a very beginning total noob level of building skills with Blender can provide the context for the spiritual transformation.

The second reason is that with practice some people will learn Blender well enough to make objects, to use in the SL Virtual Ashram and to use in our Kitely building project. In addition those objects can be used in the games that EJ is creating. Not everyone will get
to this level. But many of you will.

Blender — An Introduction

What is Blender?

Blender is a 3D modeling program — and much, much more.

This description comes from the Blender website: “Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.”

For examples of the above mentioned functions check out Blender’s Features page.
