There is “now”.
When I fill “now” with attention, I experience “now”.
As I stay with “now” I also experience other nows poking through the pixels of the present.
Sometimes those other nows are faint, and sometimes they are not so faint.
As I walk down the path there is another now in which a different but similar path was walked. In fact, there are many nows of many different but similar paths. These nows of different but similar paths can be placed along an axis.
Here’s the surprise. As I allowed awareness of other nows to bloom, it drove my presence deeper into the current “now.”
I would have thought other nows entering the picture would distract from the awareness of the present. I’m sure they would have — if I were using the lower mental (beta brain) apparatus. However, through luck, training or grace of the guide I was not using the head-brain. Instead my attention was split with the larger portion rooted in awareness of the present “now” and another smaller portion floating along the axis of other similar nows.
Happily, this exploration along the orthogonal axis of similar nows provided a quantum bump into “now.”
